Hi, all, just joined the list- empeg S/N 00035, and looking to start playing with it rather than just using it. Some background, I build things with SA1100 in for a living, but here we use VXWorks rather than linux. I'm looking to get some experience with linux as an embedded (and, hopefully, realtime) OS, more for my own benefit than that of the company that pays the wages :) I am, by nature, a hardware engineer rather than a softie, and certainly have more experience at the assembler level than the OS-porting level, so:- is there anyone out there to answer dumb questions? Is there anyone who wants hardware stuff done in exchange for answering dumb questions?
Cheers, Steve
Hi Steve,
is there anyone out there to answer dumb questions?
I think this list is still rather small, but just shoot out your questions and we'll try to answer.

I'll keep that on my mind - I'm working with several 3rd party software projects for empeg, so I'm sure I'll have some dumb questions to ask at some point about the hardware :)
Regards, Kim

Ah- excellent. I'll go home and try some dumb things this evening :)

_The_ (empeg) hardware, I'll have problems answering questions about- SA1100 hardware in general, and vacuum cleaners in specific, I should be more useful... Bugs in the silicon I can also help with - we seem to have met most of them, now. (sigh...)

Vacuum cleaners containing SA1100 hardware? Hmm, a household cleaning appliance with enough compute power to decode MP3s. Wonders will never cease.
Kim is right, feel free to ask anything, the purpose of the list being to help each other out.
