Hello,
I'm not a
conventional Mac user and am basically interested in studying the HFS format. I
have an iMac with MacOS 9 which seems to have a normal CD-Drive.
1) I'd like to know if it is possible to
write/record Data-CD's (not audio CD's) in the HFS format using this. Is
there any difference in the underlying format of an audio CD and a data CD? Are
audio CD's also recorded using HFS?
2) I came across an article in c't which mentioned
that one could manually replace the CD-Rom drive by a CD-Writer instead
and install the Software Toast onto the iMac which could then be used for
burning CD's in HFS/HFS+ format. Can anyone who's familiar with this tell
me if this would work if I were to replace my existing CD-ROM drive which came
with the Mac with a Plextor CD-Writer?
Thanks,
