Lindsay - I double-checked my EAC settings (sorry, I should've done that before posting the first time!) and I have the "Use ID3 v1.1 instead of v1.0" enabled.  Does CDex allow you that option?  Perhaps the problem is that the MAD plug-in can only handle v1.1, and you're writing v1.0 tags? </JUST STUMBLING AROUND IN THE DARK HERE :)>

The standard WinAmp plug-in (I guess that's what I had been using) can read both v1.X and v2.X tags that EAC/LAME writes, but I'm not sure if the standard plug in was capable of reading both v1.0 & v1.1.  I suspect it can handle both while MAD can handle only v1.1.

Almost all MP3s that I use with MAD have been made using CDex and the LAME codec, and I don't think any that I've made can have their tags read by MAD.  The standard Winamp plugin however can read them fine.

I'm using the MAD WinAmp plug-in and find that, on a great many downloads, I can't read the ID3 tag.  On MP3s I make (using EAC with the external LAME codec), so far all the tags have been readable (v1 or 1.1 only).

Can anyone explain what the problem might be?

Is anyone else having a problem with MAD reading the ID3 tags on their MP3s or is it just me?  Always the song title.  Thanks..
