Hello,
I'm having a problem getting a linux server correctly configured for
the grade school my kids attend. I'm hoping that someone in this
group has the answer. The network uses a Linux server with netatalk
and HFS-0.7.8 installed. I am able to mount an HFS cdrom on the
Linux server from a Performa 6112 (system 7.5.1) connected via
Ethertalk. The files icons show up correctly when the drive is opened on
the Mac desktop - this works fine.
Here is the problem: If I try to run an application from the mounted
cdrom drive, some applications work partially - and some don't work
at all. The Mac error messages say basically that it can't find the
cdrom at the "internal" location. Like it forgot that it launched
the application from the ethertalk shared disk.
I'm not experienced with appletalk but assumed that it would be normal
to run applications that reside on remote disks. Is this assumption
wrong? What am I missing and how do I set it up correctly?
Thanks for any help you can send my way.
Regards,
Mark Slovick
