Mac OS 8.1 and later no longer write that file information to the
beginning of the resource fork. It was incomplete for HFS and HFS Plus
volumes, no recovery programs appeared to use the information, and it
significantly slowed closing a resource fork. And other HFS
implementations (like hfs_fs) probably don't write to the resource header
either.
