I've just released the second version of elmpd, a media player "daemon" that is part of the ELMP:TNG project (Embedded Linux MP3/Music/Media Player).
It uses MAD for MP3 decoding, and has optional dither on the output (HP TPDF with 2nd order noise shaping, I hope =) ).
There is currently no client (i.e. UI) for elmpd, but you can try it out using telnet.
