Lirc Support Added
A buddy and I have added fairly robust LIRC support to madplay, the CL mp3 player itself.
In case anyone is unfamiliar with LIRC here is a reference URL. http://www.lirc.org/
It ties closely into the tty control functionality, and infact our implementation is more or less an extension of that functionality.
We are looking for anyone who would be willing to help us test these additions. Please e-mail here, or directally to cayuse@deepbondi.net if you are interested.
Also, since we are new to working in the open source community, we'd like to know what is the procedure for returning the changed source back to the origionators of this project.
Finally, we are totally mystified about the autoconf stuff that is required to test for "HAVE_LIRC" and possibly a --no-lirc command line switch for ./configure to define "WANT_LIRC" is done. We are continuing to investigate this issue, but if it's not a requirement of returning the changed source, then I'd really appreciate knowing. Also, we need to know who is responsible for making changes to the man pages documenting the new features.
Thanks for any advice. Dave Henderson Mark Schultz
