I don't know.... The only thing I know is that 16 and 32 bits values on the MIPS are stored using high to low byte in memory and the Intel low to high byte in memory. Can this be a problem? Does MAD use direct way to get bytes from a 16 bits or 32 bits value?

There might be a problem with the big endian of the machine ? Do you use seeking in your app ?
