This is with reference to the mail I wrote a few days back, asking whether the first 9 bits of an mp3 file represent main_data_begin or main_data_end. Can somebody help me? Rob?

Perhaps in an earlier draft of the standard it was known as main_data_end, but in ISO/IEC 11172-3 it is named main_data_begin and denotes the location of the beginning of the frame's main_data.
