I have found the mad plugin does not work with the audiophile 2496 in windows2000. It worked if I used the NT drivers, but it doesn't seem to work with the w2k WDM drivers. winamp complains that the output format cannot be translated.
I also had the same problem with the dio 2448 card. I wonder if this a problem of M-Audio's or if it's a problem with WDM drivers in general in w2k..
