Hello, I was wondering what people are using to do playlists with mad, maybe xhippo? I'm using Linux/KDE.
I use the filesystem as a playlist, with symlinks for various cross-categories. I then usually use madplay's shuffle mode to mix
things up,
or sometimes I just play through a single album using the filenames
sorted
into track order.
I like GUIs, but as you might guess I also often prefer alternatives.

I hope this is the right way to reply- I'm just copying the subject line
by hand.
I didn't notice there was a shuffle mode, I'll try that for myself. Then maybe compile xhippo for my parents since they're still kind of new to Linux.
There has been one proposal to add some kind of option similar to
mpg123's -@
playlist option to read a list of filenames from another file. Does
anyone
else also like this idea?
That sounds useful. Now that I know I can play a series of files on the command line though :) I'll just use that. It doesn't matter to me personally whether the list is on the command line or in a file. Thanks again for such a great free player.
Cheers, -rob
