Thanks, that worked fine. The only thing is minimad seems to do nothing, I tried ./minimad and it just goes straight back to the command prompt. I tried giving it a filename, ./minimad track.mp3, and the same thing happens. Can you give me some pointers as to how i start using it, or is there some basic documentation that i can read up on it? I don't think they were meant to be played, but rather I think they are there to make sure your decoder works properly. Like, you decode the files and compare the output to another decoder that you know works properly. Sorry if this isn't what you were looking for, but I hope it helps. -- Marcus B. Heya Rob, With the popularity of fast CPU's (a 1 GHz Athlon can now be had for $70) , would you please bump the winamp MAD decoder up to full accuracy decoding. Im sure the extra CPU time consumed will be negligible. Also you could consider adding even higher quality and accuracy options now. Thanks, George Pantazopoulos

Is anyone else having a problem with MAD reading the ID3 tags on their MP3s or is it just me? Always the song title. Thanks..

Anyone know why the LINUX port of madplay can't paly 24/48 MP3s, but the Wintel version can? I upsample all my mp3s from 16/44 to 24/48 to take advantage of the wider bandwidth of modern soundcards. John

Have you ever HEARD a upsampler? Have you compared a CD upsampled to 24/48? If you haven't, I suggest you keep your (uninformed) opinions to yourself until you learn more about hi-fidelity. John P.S. If you took a VHS signal sampled at 320x240, and interpolated it to 1280x960, it *would* look better. That's exactly what I'm doing with the audio signal. Hearing is believing, if you have a 24/96 sound card, I'll send you the scripts and you can try it yourself. Frame skipping

Hi, is there a way one can skip a frame in a stream instead of doing mad_frame_decode. Coz I need to make a jump ahead but it takes too much time if I just wait for the say 10 seconds to pass without writing to /dev/dsp but still decoding. I dont know if I attacking the problem in a good way thus any suggestions are welcome. -Mat
