Some make problems

Hi: I have a project that port madplay into embedded system(CPU:ARM, OS:uclinux). I know madplay can be build on uclinux using uclibc and arm cpu using arm-linux-gcc respectively. But, when I port madplay to embedded system with ARM and uclinux using arm-elf-gcc, I encountered some problems. The following is my make step: I use cygwin and arm-elf-gcc to build my project. export CPPFLAGS='-I/usr/local/include/' export LDFLAGS='-I/usr/local/lib/' $cd zlib-1.1.4 modify configure AR=$(AR-"ar rc") ---> AR="arm-elf-ar rc" RANLIB=$(RANLIB-"ranlib") ---> RANLIB=arm-elf-ranlib $./configure ---------------->down $cd libid3tag-0.15.1b $./configure CC=arm-elf-gcc --host=arm-elf --build=arm $make $make install ---------------->down $cd libmad-0.15.1b $./configure CC=arm-elf-gcc --host=arm-elf --build=arm $make $make install ---------------->down $cd madplay-0.15.2b $./configure CC=arm-elf-gcc --host=arm-elf --build=arm ---------------->error, because it can not find libmad and libid3tag. But I am sure the lib path is correct. Where am I wrong with the configure setting?? Whether madplay can't be ported to embedded system with ARM and uclinux or I should use anyother corse compiler. thanks for any reply. Tsaimc

The madplay can't play mp3.

I have three mp3 songs and the madplay can't play these songs. Maybe are mp3 itself problems but i can play them in the windows media player. I don't know the reason and i hope to solve this problem. Hello, All @ mad-user list I wonder why WinAmp MAD plugin does not support ID3v2 tags, displaying and extracting info only from ID3v1. Is it planned to implement ID3v2 in next versions? P.S. I'm currently using ver. 0.14.2beta P.P.S. Looks like now MAD plugin development is frozen, or goes very slow... Am I right? dB gain --> command-line volume switch?

Hiya. This isn't really a MAD question, but it was suggested to me to try this list: I'm trying to implement some support for the output of the 'normalize' package in my mp3 player of choice, but ran into the problem that it doesn't seem that either mpg123 or mpg321 currently support the RVA2 volume adjustment tag in ID3v2.4 tags. So I wrote a little routine in the jukebox wrapper program I'm using ('Tunez') to pull out normalize's backwards-compatible ID3v2.3 "XRVA" tag data. Practical upshot is that before I call mpg321 I know that I want my file to be played, say, 5 dB louder or 10 dB quieter, but don't know how to translate that into the " -gain " argument's 0-100 scale on mpg123 or mpg321. I could figure this out by trial and error, but was hoping there might be a more definitive conversion. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks! - Ert Dredge

madplay 0.15.2b released

Aleksander Korzynski pointed out to me the recent LAME heresy with respect to Replay Gain: rather than using the 83 dB SPL reference specified by the Replay Gain proposed standard, LAME uses a reference of 89 dB as of version 3.95.1. Combined with the default pre-amp gain of +6 dB implemented in madplay, this often results in an over-amplified signal and clipping when Replay Gain is enabled. a patch for using the last alsa

In order to use the alsa module (last version 1.0.2c) i use this simple patch. Please incorporate it in the package. MAD suite 0.15.1b released

MAD 0.15.1b is now available. Here is a summary of the important changes: libmad - New Layer III IMDCT routine based on Szu-Wei Lee's fast algorithm. - Improved robustness of Layer II bitrate/mode combinations. - Other improved portability and robustness. libid3tag - New id3_field_gettextencoding() API routine. - Other slightly improved robustness. madplay - New Replay Gain support (-G, --replay-gain). - Tags can now be shown without decoding any audio (-T, --show-tags-only). - New support for reading and displaying encoder tag information written by e.g. lame(1). Hi All Does anyone know how I can make madplay access the number pad of a keyboard instead of the q p s keys for play and pause stop etc....? thanks
