Hi Kjetil,
the Delta Audiophile is a great card, but I´ve been exactly thinking about those ways you mention: Gaming, EAX Advanced HD, Firewire, huge software bundle for first time users, a bundled game . Again: We don´t want to sell high end cards, we sell for the mass market. And there, those things are more important than 24/96 recording and the like. So, why the doubts?
I wouldn´t be in this mailinglist, if I weren´t interested in high-end sound quality and 24Bit playback. But there are thousands of gamers, novices etc. who either just don´t understand our need for sound quality or who just don´t give a damn. Not only due to my job, I always try to understand both sides...
Rgds,
Michael
Hi Michael, Yes, you do bring up some good points. Despite the rough driver support, my SB Live was a great beginners card with a lot of bang for the buck, exposing me to MIDI and soundfounts and DSP effects for a very accessible price.

I'd be almost inclined to agree with you if it wasn't for the ACPI header fiasco.
