24bit Output in WinXP on a MX300

Has anybody gotten this combo to work? I ask because 24bit output works for MX300 (and I assume all Aureal cards), under WinME. Any help would be great Thanks, Geoff

Solved my general problem with building applications for this platform (including madplay) by rebuilding tools and general set up. But now I (& others) have a different problem - or rather two problems. 1. Firstly, madplay never recognises that the DC and driver are capable of stereo output. This is not a problem for any other application I have tested - any body else have this problem or know how it might be fixed? 2. Secondly the output is "doubled up" - ie each fragment is played twice - meaning each MP3 takes twice as long to play and comes out in a way not all expected - any suggestions? I don't have this problem with, say mpg123, which plays output linerally. Thanks Adrian

are you playing them back in Wnamp? I have a Athlon 1333, and I have to use the command line version of madplay. Winamp can't keep up with all the data, it stops and stutters. What's the sonic foundry program you're using? Is there a noticeable improvement? anyone else have the M Delta 24/96 sound card, and wanting to convert WAVs to 96khz, then use MAD to play em back as 24 bit ? on my AMD/VIA pc, I'm getting halting or stuttering audio. M Delta site sez the prob, in recording, is that the USB port is disabled, and the VIA AC 97 audio is enabled. . . . but fixing these doesn't do it for my machine. anyone have an idea? tia __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I have compiled mad/madplay on SH4 for Linux (Dreamcast) to test the /dev/dsp driver I am writing for this machine. I can play one MP3 - MPEG II at 22k sampling - everything else seems to result in a "Segmentation fault" (that includes trying to play the one working mp3 with option -v). All the others I have tried are MPEG I and all seem to have 44.1k sampling rates. Questions I have: Anybody know of a test suite of MP3s that I could use to try to isolate the problem? Anybody had a similar problem on a different platform and might be able to tell me what's up? Adrian

Audigy/24Bit/Mad Plugin

Hi, Just wondering if there is a definitive yes/no, on whether the Audigy can be used in 24 bit mode with the Mad Plugin. I've heard of "wrappers" that can be used to achieve this in NT, is there any for XP and possibly Win 98SE? I haven't as yet been able to download one of these files, as the site I was told about has been taken down. Thanks for any info in advance, Jason
